Ample make this Bed

I have done a set of belles where I have used soft pastel colours.The hair is straight from the Twenties! It was the ideal style for ladies to wear under the lovely cloche hats and little gold croched evening caps.. My daughter Susan chose a poem by Emily Dickenson to go with this image:

Ample make this bed

"Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.

Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise' yellow noise
Interrupt this ground."

Emily Dickinson

  3. Love a fluffy bed :D
    Isn't it funny how when you see movies from the 40's now, the fashions are hip and stylish while back some years they looked SO old fashioned!
    Congrats on your sales, Marie.

  4. Hi Mary, I love to find visitors here! The other blog is so popular, if I find a visitor here I feel as if we are having tea in a secret garden. I agree with you about fashion.My one daughter in Texas buys lovely clothes from thrift shops. I always tell her: it is not second-hand, it is "vintage".
